A full range of particle sizes suitable for blending or subsequent processing can be obtained from various plant sources for flavorings. Choose from a wide selection of cutting head opening sizes for particle sizes larger than 1/64″ (0.4 mm). The processing of spices is heavily dependent on individual product characteristics. Test cutting is highly recommended in one of our Test Facilities. Contact your local Urschel office for more information. Use microcut heads for the finest degree of reduction using 9,390 revolutions per minute impeller speed and 30 horsepower motor. Chop or grind product 1/4″ (6.4 mm) or smaller and pump into the processor for minimum aeration. Low moisture content can be necessary for some spices. A preblending of all ingredients gives a finer powder if fatty spices are mixed in.
