A day in the life of a CNC Lathe Operator would machine features in all types of material, including castings and forgings, using CNC lathes and other machine tools. Understands CNC program codes and programs, has the ability to edit programs when necessary, and records all changes for documentation.
Qualified applicants must have a minimum one to two years machining experience or post high school training in manufacturing or engineering related disciplines with a high school education or equivalent. Basic understanding of CNC Programming and control functions and basic understanding of engineering prints and setup cards. Ability to run multiple machines, ability to communicate effectively, basic computer skills, strong mechanical aptitude, ability to solve math problems, and use precision measuring instruments.

A day in the life of an Investment Foundry Saw Operator/Abrasive Finisher cuts off castings from the gating systems using proper saw, and segregates returns for re-melt without alloy cross-contamination. Operates floor grinders, sanders, pneumatic air tools, power hand tools and aluminum oxide/glass bead cabinets and selects the proper grade of grinding wheel and the proper grit of sanding discs abrasive finish castings to Urschel quality standards. Uses hydraulic press and appropriate fixtures to straighten castings. Assists with the pouring operations when needed. Requirements include; a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of heavy manual labor, ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations, ability to solve math problems, and ability to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprints.
