Starting Pay Level: Machining Group A, Level 5A (3E), $28.05*

Primary Job Duties: Operates machine tools including, but not limited to, manual or CNC machine tools and ancillary equipment to machine parts from castings, forgings, fabricated parts, and bar stock. Uses various types of precision measuring instruments and gaging to verify and document inspections. Performs all necessary tasks required to complete the process. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, although other duties may be assigned:

  • Interprets engineering prints and job notes.
  • Performs a variety of machining operations to close and interrelated tolerances.
  • Repetitively loads and unloads parts into machine(s). 
  • Inspects and documents tolerances from engineering prints throughout the entire part run.
  • Thoroughly cleans and deburrs parts according to Urschel specification.
  • Performs any other necessary tasks in order to complete the manufacturing process.

  • Education and/or Experience:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to two years’ related manufacturing experience and/or training.
  • Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprints, set-up cards, routine reports, and procedure documents.
  • Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems in standardized situations. Ability to perform job by exercising proficient judgment, diligent attention to detail, and capable of comprehending written and/or oral instructions.
