Primary Job Duties:

Grinds all types of tooling, using all types of tool grinders and other equipment necessary to accomplish jobs.  Also responsible for repairing damaged tools. Selects proper grinding wheel for jobs, uses all types of precision gaging equipment, and knows proper clearances and angles for different metals.

Minimum qualifications needed to be considered for position:

Education/Experience:

• High school education or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of Urschel machining experience or similar CNC tool grinding experience

Necessary Skills:

• Ability to solve math problems presented by jobs (general arithmetic using decimals and fractions)
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments (dial test indicators, comparators, height gauges, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges)
• Understands basic tool geometries
• Interprets engineering prints and procedure documents

Overall Competencies:

• Ability to communicate effectively
