Tool & Die Assistant Supervisor (Internal Only)

Starting Pay Level: 15% above an employee’s normal hourly rate for full days only.  A full day constitutes substituting for ½ day (4 hours) or greater.

An Assistant Supervisor is responsible for filling in for the Department Supervisor when the supervisor is absent or needs to be away from the department to assist with a company need.  The assistant supervisor will fulfill the majority of the responsibilities of the supervisor and direct employee related issues to the appropriate manager.  When the assistant supervisor is not fulfilling the responsibility of the supervisor, they are expected to perform their normal job responsibilities.  The ideal candidate must display proficient communication skills along with the ability to problem solve, and multi-task and have a good understanding of Urschel manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Fill-in for the department supervisor as needed
• Ensure adherence of all safety and environmental policies
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
• Approve timecards and other intermittent attendance recording
• Listen to concerns and assist with resolving Shop Engineering problems
• Mentor employees
• Participate in Supervisor meetings as necessary
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Must currently be an employee in the Tool & Die department. A minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred;
• Expertise in at least one departmental discipline;
• General understanding of all department operations;
• Must display professional business behaviors;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills;
