Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has an opening for a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. A Facility Maintenance Supervisor will lead a skilled team of Urschel maintenance technicians, apprentices, caretaker, and custodial group to ensure that buildings, equipment, grounds maintenance, and systems are safe, functional and well maintained.  The role focuses on maintaining high standards of operational performance, quality and safety compliance by overseeing daily maintenance operations, coordinating repairs, and implementing preventive maintenance schedules.

Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis.

This role oversees the daily operations and upkeep of our facility’s infrastructure, equipment, and building systems while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment, tracking maintenance KPIs, managing budgets for supplies and repairs, and ensuring all equipment and facilities are operating at peak efficiency. A proactive approach, clear communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement are key to being effective in this leadership position

The ideal candidate must possess 4+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance with emphasis on building maintenance. 60 accredited hours in an Industrial Maintenance-related program or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.) in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience using CMMS or other maintenance management software a plus. Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety standards, and OSHA regulations. This individual should be highly organized and capable of leading a team of maintenance technicians, prioritizing work orders, managing vendor relationships, and coordinating facility upgrades and repairs with minimal disruption to operations. Certifications in industrial maintenance (e.g., industrial electricity, welding, HVAC, plumbing) preferred. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics. Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability practices a plus.
