Facilities Engineer
The Facilities Engineer optimizes the infrastructure and layout of the physical assets within our industrial manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for the planning, design, and continuous improvement of facilities systems, (e.g. safety systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural components). The role supports production continuity, ensures regulatory compliance, and contributes to energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
Customer Service Technician
A day in the life of a Maintenance Technician involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration, HVAC, and other equipment. Uses various gages, meters, instruments, and machine tools to accomplish jobs. Reads, studies, and understands prints, wiring diagrams, and charts.
Electronics/CNC Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift
A day in the life of an Electronics/CNC Maintenance Technician is installing and maintaining shop machinery and equipment, including mechanical and control repairs, hydraulics, pneumatics, security equipment and production systems.
Welder (Internal Only)
Weld, cut, and fabricate stainless steel and other metals. Use electric arc and inert arc welders. Use proper electrodes and heat required for different types of metal. Figure, establish, and apply efficient methods and job procedures.
Warehouse, Heat Treat, & Saws Department Supervisor (Internal Only)
The supervisor manages all work being done in this department, enforcing Urschel standards in safety, execution, and overall cleanliness. The supervisor must meet performance standards and objectives, identify/resolve issues, and continually seek improvement for the department. The supervisor works set employee schedules and adheres to the production schedule set forth by the Production Control Analyst, all while providing leadership to the department, motivating the team to meet related goals.
Lathe Department Supervisor (Internal Only)
The supervisor manages all work being done in this department, enforcing Urschel standards in safety, execution, and overall cleanliness. The Copywriter will craft compelling insights into Urschel manufacturing – engaging, error-free content that communicates our brand story, connects with our audience, and drives business results.
Production Scheduler
This role is pivotal in aligning planning parameters with demand to optimize the sequencing and timing of production work orders released to the shop floor.
General Manager – Grand Gardner Hotel
The General Manager provides comprehensive oversight of the hotel, amenity spaces, and sales operations, encompassing the hotel itself, food and beverage services, spa, retail, meeting and event spaces. This includes leadership and management of all operating departments, departmental leadership, and their respective teams.
Staff Attorney
The Staff Attorney provides broad exposure to legal matters across the company and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working closely with our General Counsel.
Circle Knife Operator
A day in the life of a Circle Knife Operator includes making repetitive cuts to acquire accurate dimensions on a variety of circular knives, operating multiple machines simultaneously. Uses circle knife lathes, serrators, and straighteners to accomplish jobs. Uses all necessary types of precision measuring and gaging equipment.
Staff Accountant
An overview of the primary job duties of the Staff Accountant at Urschel include the Monthly close and balance sheet reconciliations; Recording and tracking of fixed assets; Filing and payment of monthly sales tax; and Serving as back-up to other Accounting functions

Local programs, such as the Porter County Career and Technical Center (PCCTC) and AK Smith Career Center, offer specific training to high school students interested in manufacturing, such as classes in Modern Machining Technology, computer-controlled machining (CNC), computer-aided design and machining (CAD-CAM), and quality control processes. Area programs offered at Vincennes University and Ivy Tech also offer manufactured-based technology classes and degrees. Urschel and the local career centers offer part-time work-study machining internships and Vincennes scholarship opportunities for students interested in a machining career.
