Urschel, the Global Leader in Food Cutting Technology, is in the process of adding 115,000 s.f. to the current 410,000 s.f. facility. The 100% employee-owned, U.S.-based manufacturing company relocated from Valparaiso, Indiana, to a newly constructed location in Chesterton in 2015. This marks the company's third and largest expansion to date. Urschel, established in 1910, assists food processors around the world by providing optimal food cutting machinery. Popular products reduced on Urschel machinery include ready-to-eat fresh-cut salads, canned/frozen soups, vegetables, and fruits, shredded cheese, and all varieties of potato chips. Food products processed on Urschel cutting equipment are found in every aisle of a supermarket.
