Job Duties:

Machines features in all types of material, including castings and forgings, using CNC lathes and other machine tools. Understands CNC program codes and programs, has the ability to edit programs when necessary, and records all changes for documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, although other duties may be assigned:

• Interprets engineering prints and setup notes for machining parts to dimensional specifications. 
• Downloads CNC programs and reads/modifies G-Code programs as needed.
• Mounts workpiece between center, in chuck, or to fixture, dresses jaws when required, and installs cutting tools in machine turret.
• Performs a variety of milling, drilling, boring, turning, tapping, or related operations to close and interrelated tolerances, operating multiple machines as needed.

• Education and/or Experience:  One to two years’ related experience and/or training.
• Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and blueprints.  Ability to create and interpret set-up cards, routine reports, and procedure documents.
• Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to apply concepts of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to the work situation.
• Reasoning Ability:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to perform job by exercising proficient judgment, diligent attention to detail, and capable of comprehending written and/or oral instructions.
