Urschel Laboratories, Inc. offers meat processing equipment that dices, strip cuts, and shreds meat and poultry products. Quality Urschel dicers, shredders, and strip cutters are simple to operate and maintain, and accept meat and poultry products in a wide temperature range.

Note: Hundreds of pounds per hour up to thousands of pounds per hour; capacities vary depending on condition of materials, method of feeding, and other variables. Where capacities are listed, it is assumed product will flow in a smooth, uninterrupted manner through an Urschel® machine that is in optimum condition. Capacities listed are an indication of potential results.

Below you will find our selection of beef processing machines. Each of the following meat cutting machines offers different kinds of cuts.



DiversaCut 2110® Dicer    1/8 to 1" (3.2 to 25.4 mm) cubes and strips. Use cooked or raw, frozen-tempered beef at uniform temperature. Maximum infeed dimension of 10" (254 mm) in any dimension.

DiversaCut Sprint® Dicer    1/8 to 1" (3.2 to 25.4 mm) cubes and strips. Use cooked or raw, frozen-tempered beef at uniform temperature. Maximum infeed dimension of 6.5" (165.1 mm) in any dimension.

Model SL-A    1/8, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, or 1/2" (3.2, 6.4, 7.9, 9.5, or 12.7 mm) cubes or pieces such as 1/4 x 3/4 x 3/4" (6.4 x 19 x 19 mm) and 1/2 x 1 x 1" (13 x 25 x 25 mm). Use cooked or raw, frozen tempered beef at uniform temperature. Pieces of meat should not exceed 4" (102 mm) in any dimension for rapid feeding and peak production.

Model RA-A    1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16 or 3/8" (3.2, 4.0, 4.8, 6.4, 7.9, or 9.5 mm) cubes and strips, and pieces such as 1/8 x 3/8 x 3/8" (3.2 x 9.5 x 9.5 mm) or 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/2" (6.4 x 6.4 x 13 mm) from raw, cooked, or tempered frozen beef.

QuantiCut® Dicer     Beef Dicer; 5/32 to 1" (4.0 to 25.4 mm) cubes and strips. Use cooked or raw, frozen-tempered beef at uniform temperature. Maximum infeed dimension of 10" (254 mm) in any dimension.

Model M6    MEAT DICER AND SHREDDER - 3/16 to 3" (4.8 to 76.2 mm) squares, strips such as 3/8 x 1" (9.5 x 25.4 mm) or 3/4 x 1-1/2" (19.1 x 38.1 mm), or coarse to fine shreds of varying lengths from fresh, frozen-tempered, or hot cooked meat. Approximate hourly capacity: 4,500 lb (2,000 kg) or higher depending on the thickness of the product and method of feeding. Consult Urschel Laboratories or your local Urschel representative for optimum knife configuration and cutting speed.

Model J9-A    3/16 to 3" (4.8 to 76.2 mm) squares or pieces such as 3/8 x 1" (9.5 x 25.4 mm) or 5/8 x 2" (15.9 x 50.8 mm) from cooked or frozen raw beef uniformly tempered. Accepts firm products up to 1/2" (12.7 mm). Approximate hourly capacity: 1,500 to 3,500 lb (680 to 1,500 kg).

Model HX-A    5/8, 3/4" (15.9, 19.1 mm), and larger squares or pieces such as 3/4 x 1-1/4" (19 x 32 mm) or 1-1/2 x 1-1/2" (38.1 x 38.1 mm) from cooked product. Beef must be presliced so thickness does not exceed 3/4 or 1-1/8" (19.1 or 28.6 mm) depending upon the crosscut knife spindle selected. Approximate hourly capacity: 1,500 to 5,000 lb (700 to 2,200 kg) hourly depending on slice thickness, overall slice dimension, and method of feeding.

Comitrol® Processor Line    1/16 to 1/4" (1.6 to 6.4 mm) flakes with flavor, texture and processing properties superior to ground beef. Patties and meat balls resist shrinkage, crumbling and have the bite of choice cuts. Choose from a wide selection of cutting heads. Precut into 1/2 or 3/4" (12.7 or 19.1 mm) pieces for uniform blending of lean and fat using a coarse Comitrol head or conventional chopper. Frozen meat must be thawed or uniformly tempered to 25° F (-4° C) or above before entering the Comitrol Processor. Approximate hourly capacity using the Comitrol Processor Model 2100 with a 40 horsepower motor: 5,000 to 12,000 lb (2,200 to 5,500 kg). Approximate hourly capacity using a Comitrol Processor Model 5600 with a 100 horsepower motor: 10,000 to 25,000 lb (4,400 to 11,000 kg).

Comitrol® Processor Line    Infant foods, soup bases, and special diet recipes require smaller particles and maximum cutting of fibers. Use microcut heads for finest degree of reduction. Chop or grind product 1/4" (6.4 mm) or smaller and pump into the Processor for minimum aeration.

Comitrol® Processor 9300 with Feeder    Single pass thru the Comitrol Processor Model 9300 mill can eliminate several other pieces of equipment while producing smoother end product. Approximate hourly capacity: 18,000 lb (8,200 kg).
